Writer with Sizzle: Viola Estrella

Please welcome Viola Estrella! Today is the official release day for her sizzling paranormal romance, Bewitching You. To celebrate, she’s going to be giving away a free eBook copy to one lucky commenter, so be sure to give her some love.

Lia: What is your favorite thing about being a romance writer?

Viola: So many things. Falling in love with the story and with the characters. Having Aha! moments that draw me back into the story. Writing scenes that move me. That feeling of accomplishment when I write “The End.” And I’m slowly becoming a fan of revisions. So much depth and richness can be added when you go back and give it that extra oomph.

Lia: Have you ever cried or laughed out loud while writing a scene?

Viola: Yes! This book, in particular, had me laughing and crying in a few different scenes. Even the secondary characters go through an emotional roller coaster ride. Bewitching You was definitely a book of my heart. It’s always a good feeling when I’m journeying along with my characters, putting them through hell, then fighting with them, for them, to reach the happily ever after.

Lia: What was your hero’s lowest moment? His best moment?

Viola: My hero, Gray, has quite a few low moments in Bewitching You. He has a series of unfortunate events happen to him toward the beginning of the book that force him to look at his life, or his “life plan” a little differently. These events, hopefully, make the reader appreciate when his character transitions. There are certain spots where we can really see him changing. Here’s one of them.

Excerpt (the first kiss):

Wind gusted in and blew her hair off her shoulders. One piece stuck to her moist cheek so Gray swept it behind her ear.

“What are you doing?” she asked again, her eyes wide in what seemed like fear.

“Are you afraid of me, Sofia?” Had he been that awful to her?

“Of course not.” She blinked once. “That’s silly.”

Her tone wasn’t convincing. Carefully, Gray cupped her cheek. Her skin was soft, speckled lightly with freckles. Beautiful in a way he hadn’t noticed before.

A wary sigh heaved up her chest. Then she leaned into his hand and pulled in her bottom lip only to release it, wet and inviting.

Just one kiss.

Gray brushed his thumb over her lips, desperately wanting to erase every bad notion she had of him. What was it that made him want to be more to her than a cold-hearted jerk?

So much more.

Another gust of wind blew in, and she closed her eyes. Before she could open them again, Gray tilted her head up and molded his mouth to hers. She gasped slightly, but didn’t pull away. Her lips were supple and sweet to the taste. Like in his dreams, but better.

This was real.

He wasn’t going to wake up and find her gone. To make sure, he grasped her waist and held her close. Faint whimpers muffled against his lips. He almost drew back, but her fingertips running up his arms gave him permission to continue.

Eager for more, he slid his tongue into her mouth and felt her hips push up against his growing erection. She curved into him. Her hands glided over his shoulders and clasped onto his neck, nudging him down. Did she want him to take her? Now? Here?

He was a free to do whatever he wanted with whomever he wanted. For some reason, he only wanted to be here in this moment with this woman. From the way she was luring him toward the mattress, she desired more than just one kiss.

Gray wouldn’t refuse her. He wrapped one arm around her for support. The other arm braced against the bed as he lowered her, kissing her thoroughly all the while. He wouldn’t disappoint her like he had already.

This time, he wouldn’t give her anything less than his best.

Celebrating with a Writer with Sizzle: Leigha Phillips

Today I’m celebrating with a good friend of mine. Leigha Phillips is an aspiring writer of erotic romance, and she is very, very close to publication. Recently her book, Stolen Nights of Passion, won first place in Colorado Romance Writer’s Heart of the Rockies contest. Congratulations, Leigha!

Please help me welcome the talented Leigha Phillips!

Lia: What is your favorite thing about being a romance writer?

Leigha: I get to create people with fantastic lives. And regardless of their struggles, I’m able to develop their ‘tools’ in order for them to overcome the difficulties that we often face in our everyday lives. And best of all, they get the happily ever after. Every time.

Lia: Great answer. What is your favorite sexual position to write about?

Leigha: Anything, (I use them all). My favorites though, are when the Alpha male takes control. A tug on the hair, bound hands, passionate and raw etc….

Lia: Yes, those scenes are very hot! Is there anything special you do to get “in the mood” before writing a sex scene?

Leigha: It was my first attempt at writing a M/M from Stolen Nights of Passion.

Excerpt:

Assured his entrance would not cause his partner any discomfort, he placed the tip of his cock against his partner and teased the man by running his heavy cock up and down between his cheeks.

“My lord, please stop this torture.”

Drake eased into his partner’s warm, tight, cavern. “How does that feel”? His partner groaned and backed into him. His body language begged for more.

“Fuck me, my lord. Just fuck me.”

Little by little, Drake pulled out. His body savoring each torturous tug and pull on the head of his dick.

“Mmm… that feels so good, my lord.”

The man’s response fueled Drake’s passion. He gripped the servant’s waist in a tight hold. With his dominance declared, Drake plunged his thick, heavy cock back into the welcoming chasm with a driving force.

Lia: I had the pleasure of reading this story and I just fell in love with the characters. It was both sizzling and touching. I can’t wait to see it published. Thanks so much for being a Writer with Sizzle, Leigha!

I would love to have your vote!

Fatal Exposure is up for Best Book of the Week over at Whipped Cream Reviews, the erotic side of The Long and the Short of It. The voting is all day Saturday and Sunday, and I'd love to have your vote!

http://www.longandshortreviews.com/WC/recentrev.htm

This is what the reviewer said:

"Is it wrong, as a reviewer, to discuss how turned on you became while reading a story? Most of the time, I try to discuss the fundamentals of the work: the writing, the character development, the premise, and the intrigue/suspense/mystery. And let me assure you, all of those necessary elements are present here. You’ll soar through this one and your heart will go through the wringer along the way. But the truth is, when I read the last word on that final page of Fatal Exposure, my first thought was, “Damn, now that was hot!”

Lia Slater has written a story that is fantastic, with all the sultry twists and turns that keep readers on the edge of our seat. A girl on the run from an abusive lover falls for the P.I. hired to find her and bring her back. She’s someone that needs to be loved and protected, and he’s a man that doesn’t want to feel anything for his target and/or become emotionally attached. It goes without saying that they’ll find what they lack in one another–the perpetual yin and yang. That alone is enough to garner interest and snare attention, and the conflict it creates is gut wrenching. But the moment Ava and Kade meet the sexual tension and chemistry between them oozes off the page.

This ain’t your Momma’s romance. The sex is raw, gritty, and so hot you’ll be forced to take a nice cold shower–or if you’re lucky, commandeer your partner–to take the edge off! In fact, Kade is one of the most memorable heroes I’ve had the pleasure to meet in a very long time. After I was done, I wondered where I might find a P.I. of my own." Fern, reviewer

Writer with Sizzle: Catherine Bybee

Please welcome the talented, Catherine Bybee!

Catherine: Thanks so much for having me, Lia. I’m so excited about the success of Kilt Worthy and I just love chatting about Logan and Jane.

Lia: Thanks for being here, Catherine! Have you ever cried or laughed out loud while writing a scene?

Catherine: I loved this question! Remember the movie Romancing the Stone? The opening scene our heroine is completing a romance novel and searching her apartment for Kleenex because her own book has her in tears. Happy tears, but big old fat tears nonetheless. This happens to me all the damn time. I laugh at my own jokes, get chocked up when emotions are high and yeah… get a bit wiggly in the seat when the sex is hot! Sometimes, when I finish a scene, I look back and say, “Damn, that’s good!” Like in this one from Kilt Worthy

“Do you really want to go, Jane? Wouldn’t you like more than the image on your camera to remember me by?”

How about your firstborn? Damn, where had that thought come from? It wasn’t like me to have so many naked thoughts running amok in my head, but Mr. Kilt was flippin’ gorgeous.

For the first time in my twenty-three years, I thought about how delightfully sinful it would be to share a stranger’s bed, if only for one night. I couldn’t believe I stood there contemplating a brief affair but, good God, had I ever been so sexually charged in all my life? The weight of my attraction for this man collided with my good sense.

“What do you have in mind, er…” Geez, Mr. Fantasy didn’t even have a name. “What was your name again?”

He moved closer. “My name is Logan, Logan MacLaren.”

I watched, surprised, as he lifted my arm and brought my very lucky hand to his lips. No one had ever kissed the back of my hand before, but I’d read about the experience in so many romance novels I thought I’d know how it would feel. I was wrong. Warm lips, gently pushing against my skin with a breath of hot air, made the world around me disappear.

My eyes locked with his, and his thumb stroked my wrist with subtle, suggestive circles. My nipples tightened in response, and my thong, tucked beneath tight denim, would need to be chucked into the hamper the minute I got home.

“You don’t want to rush off, do you, lass?”

I instantly shook my head, but words failed me. Distracted by my unexpected arousal, it was a wonder I could still stand.

One corner of his mouth lifted in triumph. “Well then, follow me.”

Lia: Um, yeah, I would definitely follow Mr. Kilt. :-) What a fun, clever excerpt! And hot too!! What is your favorite thing about being a romance writer?

Catherine: Being able to say I’m published is high on the list. LOL. I love setting my own schedule. I enjoy having a place to let all my fantasies go crazy. And I love shocking my family and friends.

Lia: Is there anything special you do to get “in the mood” before writing a sex scene?

Catherine: All I really need is a quiet house without kids running amok asking Mom for anything. If I’m interrupted while writing a sex scene it tends to be choppy and in desperate need of edits. I’m sorry if that answer disappoints some readers, mainly husbands… Mine would love it if I needed to have sex to write sex… sadly for him, I don’t. hehehe

Lia: I hear ya. A quiet house helps tremendously! Thanks for being a Writer with Sizzle, Catherine!

Catherine: Thanks again for having me, Lia.

Writer with Sizzle: Paris Brandon

Please welcome the talented Paris Brandon! Paris is giving away a free copy of her eBook Assasin's Kiss so be sure to read on to find out more.

Lia: What is your favorite thing about being a romance writer?

Paris: I love the beginning of the creative process, the “what if” stage where I imagine the best and worst things that can happen to my hero and heroine. This is the fun stage where all things are possible. Then of course that leads to the stage where I have to determine what is logically possible and what was an idea fueled by too much coffee and not enough sleep! LOL! It’s amazing how many ideas end up in my “What were you thinking!” file.

Lia: Oh, I can so relate! Do you have any advice for the budding erotic romance writer?

Paris: I think it would probably be the same advice that I received and that was to know your market. Study the genre you want to write. Read stories that appeal to you and ones that you think might not. You could get the surprise of your life. If you’ve already written your story, check out the publishers that you think you want to work with and see if your story might be something that they’re interested in. Find the submission guidelines and follow them to the letter. Your submission will be the publisher’s first impression of you as an author. Make it as professional as possible.

You never know when you’re going to sell but treat each book you submit as if it were going to be published. Have a marketing strategy in place so that you can hit the ground running. If you don’t want the expense of a website at first, start a blog, network with readers and other authors online and get to know and be known in the writing community. Writing can be a very lonely profession and there is an overwhelming amount of support in the writing community. I’d urge everyone interested to take part.

Lia: Great advice, Paris! Now for the sizzling stuff: Which scene in your book do you think will leave the readers squirming in their seat?

Paris: There’s a scene between the heroine, Kira and the hero, Sebastian where they’ve been growing more frustrated because they are unable to have sex. Sebastian is trapped in his Jaguar Warrior nature, making it anatomically dangerous. The villains are on their trail, Kira is in heat and Sebastian is reverting to his most primitive nature. Here’s an Adult snippet of the scene…

Excerpt from Assasin’s Kiss (Love this cover, btw!):

He questioned his sanity for the moment it took to slip his hand beneath her blouse and close over her breast, molding the firm globe with his palm.

She sucked harder on his nipple, seizing it between her teeth and tugging. The delicate pain sizzled through him, making a beeline for his cock. He didn’t dare lower his other hand or he would throw her down in the dirt and fuck her just as hard and fast as they both wanted. He dug his claws deeper into the bark and circled her waist with his other hand. It glided down, molding her hip as he’d molded her breast, squeezing and rubbing, teasing himself as he teased her.

He could scent her rich, musky arousal, taste it on his tongue. Curling his hand, he covered her sex, cupped her vulva and dragged one lean finger up her slit, separating her.

She drew back her head and he caught a glimpse of his wet nipple before she latched onto the other with a ferocious nip that made him hiss. She groaned and widened her stance. He crooked two fingers and slid them into her wet heat.

She went up on her toes and came back down with a force that surprised him, shifted the angle of her hips and met his thrusts with her own. Her mouth over his nipple grew slack and then her hands were around his waist. She leaned back into the tree, biting her lip as he pumped her and felt her inner flesh spasm around his fingers, her cream pouring over them as she shuddered and shook.

He slid out of her and held up his hand, daring her to watch as he sucked his fingers into his mouth and licked them clean.

Lia: Yep, I'm squirming! Hot excerpt, Paris.

Paris: Thanks for having me as your guest today! If your readers would like to know more about me or my books they can find me at: Ellora’s Cave: http://www.jasminejade.com/ or visit my website: http://www.parisbrandon.com/

And if you’d like a chance to read the rest of the story for free, make a comment. You could be the person who receives a free copy of Assassin’s Kiss!

Lia: Thanks for being a Writer with Sizzle, Paris! Can't wait to see who the lucky winner is! Readers, stop back tomorrow (Wednesday) to find out if it's you.

Writer with Sizzle: Anh Leod

Congrats to Cari Quinn! Via a random name picker from the internet, you were chosen as the winner of Anh Leod's Ex Factor. Contact me at lia@liaslater.com and I'll email you the eBook.

Thanks, everyone! Come back Tuesday to see the next Writer with Sizzle, Paris Brandon!

Please welcome the talented Anh Leod! Today, Anh is giving away a free eBook copy (PDF) of her sizzling book Ex Factor, so be sure to leave a comment and come back tomorrow to see if you're a winner!

Lia: Hi Anh! Let's get down to it. Where is the wildest place your characters have had sexual relations?

Anh: In Playing Lycan Games, my characters get together on a boat! I love writing shower scenes (all that lovely steam, soap and nudity) but an actual boat on the water was a new writing experience for me.

Teaser Excerpt:

“If we capsize,” she warned, “you’d be in worse shape than me.”

“This skiff has a nice, flat bottom. We’ll be fine.”

Was he right or just too horny to be reasonably cautious? Catee left her bench, but stayed at a crouch as she stepped toward him. The boat swayed, but he caught her by the breasts.

She glared. “You could have caught my waist.”

He tweaked her nipples. “Why would I do that? C’mon, hike up your skirt.”

She rolled her eyes, but did as he asked, shimmying her legs to tease him.

He made a tsking noise. “No panties again, I see. What a naughty girl you are.”

Lia: What a fun, hot scene! Have your characters used sex toys? How did that go?

Anh: Absolutely, especially in my BDSM-lite stories, like Bijou’s Bonds. More recently, I had Ex Factor out at Ellora’s Cave. The story is part of a group of candy-themed novellas, so there is lots of candy being used as sex toys!

Teaser Excerpt:

“Why don’t you take that shift off?” he asked.

She had a better idea for the moment. Turning to her built-in bedside table, she reached for a small dish of red grains in two sizes. When Columbo saw what she was holding, his eyes hooded.

“Cherry blow bombs?” he asked.

She smiled. “Exactly.”

His fingers fumbled against the fabric of his jumpsuit. It took him two tries to hook his thumbs in the sides and push it down his hips.

“All the way,” she instructed, stirring the red granules with the tip of her finger.

Lia: Love it! What does your heroine love most about your hero? Least?

Anh: Catee loves her weekends with her mystery man. She’s been seeing him twice a year for a long time, and having sex that’s so good has to be incomparable. But he’s always so strange when she first sees him, as if he can’t remember who she is. By the next day, he’s back to being his old self. It’s practically a personality change. What’s going on? How can she move their relationship ahead when she’s not sure he even knows who she is half the time?

Lia: A mystery man. Wow, that sounds intriguing! Has anything in your real life ever inspired a scene for your book?

Anh: The idea for Playing Lycan Games came from a temporary job my husband had in the part of Oregon where the novella is set. The scenery is so unexpected and amazing I knew I had to try to describe it. I took my locations from places I saw along the drive when I went to visit him. Also, the drive the heroine takes to see the hero is inspired by a business trip I took.

Teaser Excerpt:

The river glistened around them, looking more crystalline than blue. The golden hills above were an unexpected sight for Catee, used to Pacific Northwest green. At first, she thought it looked like Arizona, then of Egypt. She could see how the nineteenth century travelers on the Oregon Trail would get discouraged as they traveled through this barren landscape, yet Native Americans had thrived here for thousands of years, fishing and trapping.

“We won’t want to be out too long,” Jem said. “Even with that hat, your lily white skin is going to get burned.”

“I know.” Catee leaned against the side of the boat and enjoyed the sun beating against her sunglasses. “But it’s glorious for now.”

Lia: Sounds gorgeous! Where can readers find your books?

Anh: My Anh Leod books are at Ellora’s Cave and The Wild Rose Press.

Lia: Thanks for being a Writer with Sizzle, Anh!!

Writer with Sizzle: Monica Kaye

Please welcome the talented, Monica Kaye! I'm proud to say she's a friend of mine. She’s clever, witty, and downright brilliant. And today she’s celebrating her debut release 'Dirty Business.' Congrats, Monica!

Lia: So tell us a little about your sizzling story. Where is the wildest place your characters have had sexual relations?

Monica: Uh, yeah. In the fist couple love scenes in my novella, ‘Dirty Business’ my characters are all about the PDA. In fact, the hero, Sean, gets the heroine, Chloe, off in the middle of a bar before proceeding to do it again (ha!) in an elevator. Personally, I’m a fan of the clandestine sex in public. It’s fun to write (and do).

WARNING: EXPLICIT EXCERPT AHEAD

“Look at me,” he commanded.

She was helpless to do anything else as she turned to face him. His beautiful eyes blazed with so much heat, she was surprised her clothes didn’t melt.

“I think you enjoy teasing me,” he said, his voice was as deep and heady as a rich red wine. “But are you ready to put your money where your mouth is?”

“I can handle anything you dish out.”

His brow quirked, and his smile turned smoky and seductive. “Really? What if I told you that more than anything right now, I want to slide my hand up your thigh and play with your pretty pussy until you come?”

She started to pant. Sean’s crude yet provocative words stirred a deep longing. Moisture rushed into her pussy, even as the muscles clenched at the promise of his words.

Leaning in close, close enough that their lips were almost touching, she whispered, “I’d say that it’s a good thing I shaved my legs this morning.”

There. There it was. She’d thrown the gauntlet.

Sean’s broad hand began its long, slow journey. Her eyes locked on his.

“Is that what you want?” he asked, his voice raspy. “Do you want me to make you come right here? In front of all these people?”

Chloe shuddered. “Yes.” Sean’s hand traced a lazy pattern on the inside of her thigh but stopped short of actually going where she wanted it most. She bit her lip to stop herself from letting out a moan of frustration. She strained toward his questing fingers as if her will alone were enough to force his hand.

“From the moment I saw you, all I could think about is what it would be like to fuck you.”

She gasped at his crude language.

“I wanted to bend you over the nearest table and slide my cock in you from behind. I thought about how sweet your cunt would taste. I wanted my hands on you, my tongue inside you. I wanted you to beg me.”

“Please.”

He smiled as his hand continued its teasing foray on her thigh. “What, baby? What do you need?”

“Please touch me.”

“But I am touching you, baby.”

She let out a sound of frustration. Fortunately it wasn’t loud enough for any of the other patrons to hear, but she wouldn’t have cared if they did. Her entire body was a firestorm of need. Her nipples were hardened to the point of being painful. More than anything she wanted to feel his hands on her, in her. She ached for his touch.

“Please make me come.”

“Your wish…”

He plunged two fingers inside of her hot, tight cunt. She gasped and gripped the table. She caught her lip between her teeth to keep from moaning. Bit by bit, he removed his fingers, only to plunge them back with a force that left her panting. Her hips began to move in rhythm to the thrusting digits inside of her. She whimpered.

Lia: Oh, honey! That’s one hot scene! I’m dying to know - Do Sean and Chloe get caught?

Monica: Yes, they do get caught. In the elevator. By an older couple. Sean is noticeably excited but not upset and Chloe is horrified. Originally, the caught in the act scene was longer (and to my mind funnier) but it went the way of the editing gods. I had intended for the two couples to ride in the elevator together after Sean and Chloe were caught because I thought it added just the right element of squirmy hilarity. Even though I cut it, it’s still one of my funnier scenes and makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Lia: That sounds hilarious. What a great way to keep the sexual tension going strong. I have to know - how many pages was your longest sex scene?

Monica:Dirty Business’ is my first erotic romance and I went into the process because I wanted to write more effective love scenes so I crammed (pardon the expression) as much sex as I could into as many pages as I could, never really expecting that this particular novella would get published. I had my characters doing everything I could possibly think of for them to do sexually (except 69 because that’s just uncomfortable). So I think that the sex scene, the first in the hotel room, is over ten pages. Probably more but I haven’t counted. I’m afraid to.

Plus, I tend to talk a lot in real life which translates to my writing. I write long scenes. And books. My current WIP was 140,000 words until I took a chainsaw to it to get it down to 100,000. Yeah.

Lia: Well, I can’t wait to read it. I’m off to get my copy right now! Thanks for being a Writer with Sizzle, Monica!

Writers with Sizzle: Fran Lee

Please welcome the talented Fran Lee!

Lia: Wonderful to have you, Fran! What is your favorite thing about being a romance writer?

Fran: I would have to say that being a romance writer allows me the freedom to indulge not only my imagination, but my libido! LOL! What I would never dream of doing with a complete stranger, my heroines can indulge in with relish. Where my inhibitions would tell me “No, way, lady”, my heroines can step beyond the limitations of MY sensibilities and seek what they need and want. Where I would balk at baring my necessaries to the world, my heroines can wander through my books in minimal clothing (or none) and feel comfortable. I can write my deepest fantasies into a novel and not feel the least bit embarrassed…because it’s a book? Right? Besides…if the heroine goes a little bit crazy over a guy on first sight, I can assure the reader and the heroine that the hero will reciprocate in a most satisfying manner.

Lia: Love that answer! Living vicariously through our heroines is definitely a perk to writing romance, for sure. Is there anything special you do to get “in the mood” before writing a sex scene?

Fran: Absolutely not. I am in the mood all the time! :-) Seriously, I can find myself writing the hottest, steamiest scenes at the drop of a hat…or panties…whatever. Years ago, I would have to find a hidey hole somewhere with no distractions, because the nature of my writing was such that if my young kids got hold of a page or two, they would be shocked at what Mommy was writing. LOL! Now? Heck…my kids are fighting to read the stuff.

Lia: I can relate to having to hide the hot stuff from this kiddos. LOL! What is the hottest scene you ever wrote?

Fran: Hmmm…I’d say it’s a bit of a toss-up. The heat of a scene doesn’t necessarily come from the sex act itself, or the descriptive words employed in what the h/h are doing, but from the build up and the thoughts that flit in and out of their minds during the action. For instance, I have a scene where the heroine is trapped in the back room of the bookstore with the hero, who is big, and sexy and scary. This is just part of it….

Excerpt from Out of Her Dreams:

He had entered the bookstore at the rear of a milling crowd and picked up a book from an open carton by the counter. He paid for his book, handing over twenty dollars to an older man who took his money and put the book into a bag without even glancing at him. He’d covertly watched from the shadows of a narrow aisle between tall bookshelves as that long line of women, all eager to meet their beloved author, patiently waited.

He’d watched the way she responded to her fans—that dimpled, sexy little grin, the flash of brilliant green eyes. With every laugh, his groin had tightened like it had a damn mind of its own. With every flick of her tongue over those lush lips, he had found his breath catching in his throat and his heart amping up. And as he watched, he’d found himself imagining how fucking good she would feel as he dragged off her prim clothes and rode her with slow, hot strokes, skin sliding over sweat-dampened skin.

He’d stood watching for well over an hour. Fantasizing. Aching. Wanting. What the fuck? Women just didn’t have this kind of effect on him. He’d never before seen a woman he’d felt such an instant, hot attraction to. He was like some horny kid chasing after his first piece of ass. Get a grip, man.

Unable to stand it any longer, he’d stepped out of the shadows and had butted into the line, smiling down at the startled woman behind him and asking her to just let him sneak in front for a moment. An odd glazed look had come over the woman’s face and she’d simply nodded jerkily as he thanked her and waited for the young woman ahead of him to finish.

But it was when she had taken the book and her slim fingers had tangled with his and she had flashed those gorgeous eyes up at him, that he’d felt as if he had been slugged in the gut with a fist. And then he’d spoken to her and he had seen the amazed, almost shocked look that came over her face, and he had wanted to drag her up out of that damn little chair and across that table to kiss her. To do one hell of a lot more than just kiss her. His groin was so fucking tight, he could barely think straight.

And now, as he held her captive less than an inch away and he stared down into those stunning, wet-dream-provoking eyes, with her lush curves soft against his hot, raging body, all he wanted was to drag her clothes off and make hot love to her on top of that dusty old desk in the back corner of the stockroom.

He tilted her face up to his and couldn’t stop himself. He leaned possessively into her slender body and bent to devour those lush, sensational lips as she weakly protested his accusations.

He had never tasted anything so fucking good in his life. He felt her sweetly tantalizing mouth open beneath his and he took instant advantage, deepening the kiss and drinking in the honeyed taste of her, his tongue sweeping hungrily into her mouth as his hands molded the delicious little body that was so carefully hidden under that high-necked, long-sleeved blouse and that trim wool skirt.

He heard her gasp of shock and then a whimper of enjoyment as he slanted his mouth across hers to get even closer. His tongue drove between her lips urgently and he inhaled her sexy-sweet scent, his cock suddenly harder than hell as their tongues tangled in an erotic dance that made him want to shed their clothes and get down to business. Heat surged through him, an intense, wanting heat that made him forget where he was and why he was there.

How the hell had this happened?

He was beginning to believe that she had dreamed him, because he sure as hell had dreamed her. But in his own fevered, heady dreams, she had been a nebulous wraith whose kiss and touch had brought him awake dragging in deep breaths of air and shaking from the surreality of making love to her. From sinking his cock hard and deep into a body made for sin. From the feel of a sweet, wet sheath cradling his flesh and milking him as he came so damn hard inside her. The delicious smell of her was straight out of his dreams. The taste of her mouth. The pounding of that heart against his chest. And all he wanted was to experience that dream again. And again.

He barely heard the muffled pounding at the door of the stockroom. It somehow made its way into his fevered brain. He realized that he wasn’t thinking clearly. He realized that he was on the very edge of doing something incredibly stupid here. He realized with a groan that he was certainly not supposed to be kissing this woman, who had basically stolen his life and displayed it for millions of horny, panting female readers. He had to stop what he was doing and drag her into court and get his share of the income from those books. Make her regret using his face and name without his permission. Make her sorry.

But for the life of him, he couldn’t take his hands or his mouth from her. He felt her slender, lushly curved body arching into his, her fingers dragging over his sensitive nipples where she had burrowed under his shirt to touch his naked skin. Her hands, sweetly wicked, moving over his quaking body to drive him mad for her as she too seemed totally lost in the moment. Lost in the scintillating, sexual heat that swept over them both in a tsunami of pure lust.

Sam was shocked that he was kissing her instead of strangling her but she was even more shocked at her own depraved, humiliating need to touch his body. To feel the rippling muscles under that silk suit jacket. She had frantically dragged his shirt out of the waistband of his slacks and had burrowed under the soft Egyptian cotton with trembling hands, seeking the hot, hard muscles of his ribs and chest and back, as she whimpered and allowed him complete freedom to plunder her mouth.

It didn’t occur to her to protest as she felt him drag her own blouse out of the waistband of her skirt to imitate her eager exploration. It was her dream all over again. And it was even better with a real, live man. And then common sense began to kick back in.

Whoa. She shouldn’t be kissing this man. She should be calling her lawyer and asking for legal advice. She should be covering her ass legally and professionally but all she could do was wrap herself around him, doing her damnedest to undress him in the stockroom of the mall bookstore!

Stupid. Stupid. STUPID!

But her body had taken over, leaving her fevered brain in the dust. He was so decadently delicious. He tasted of heat and mint and espresso with heavy cream. He tasted of melted chocolate and incredible man. Oh, the man had such a talented tongue. She shivered as she thought of it on other places on her trembling body. Running over her skin and dipping into—

The pounding on the door didn’t quite make it through to her as she wrapped one leg around his rock-hard thigh and pressed her throbbing center to the heavy ridge of muscle below his hip. Her right hand slid down into his slacks to follow the equally hard ridge of his straining cock. She heard the groan of pleasure that erupted from his throat. Heard the whimper of need that came from her own. Never in her entire life had she done anything remotely this outrageous. This completely wanton. His cock seemed to grow larger, harder, filling her hand as he dragged her hips against his leg and cupped her ass with both hands.

If Phyllis hadn’t managed to shove the door open against their combined weights a couple of inches to groan, “What the hell is going on in there, Sam? You have to get back out here. There’s going to be a riot if these women don’t get to see you and him!” she might have succeeded in forcing herself on the man right on the spot. Oh but he was so hard, heavenly and hot!

“Sam. Open this damn door!”

She managed to return from outer space and shove shakily away from him with a sharp gasp for breath, putting her foot back on solid ground as his hands slid off her butt and went instantly to adjust his mangled tie.

“Okay. Hold your horses. Just another minute,” she rasped, as they both recovered from their momentary meltdown and rapidly tucked and smoothed disarranged clothing like two kids caught playing doctor in the hayloft. Holy shit. She felt her face go bright red with mortification as she realized what the hell she had just been doing and she nervously chewed the corner of her lip as she smoothed her hair back with trembling fingers.

Dazed, David stared down into eyes that could so damn easily control his body and mind. He felt his fevered body still clamoring for her. Felt his cock still hot and hard with need as he cleared his throat and ran his hands around his belt, shoving his shirt back where it belonged as she imitated his actions with her own clothing.

What a fucking rush. Whatever the hell had just happened, it had happened to both of them.

It had been incredibly arousing to feel her pressing her hot pussy against him like a mindless nymphomaniac as his own body had virtually exploded with an unbelievable charge of white-hot lust that had nearly put him into orbit.

Who the hell drove the oversized truck that had just hit his libido smack on and plowed him ten feet under? He’d just given the damn woman grounds to take him to court for sexual harassment, for hell’s sake!

He was just getting his breathing back to normal as she said, “I have no idea on earth where that just came from. I am so sorry. I was out of line completely. I sincerely hope you don’t plan to include molestation in your lawsuit.” She looked pink and flustered and completely adorable as she blinked up at him with those wide, emerald eyes.

Fran: Nothing at all happened in this scene, but that doesn’t matter. It still leaves the reader with a build-up of what’s to come, and keeps the pages turning. LOL! In the meantime, the scene where they finally DO get it all together is hotter yet.

Lia: Oh yeah. I feel the build-up, baby. Whew! That was one hot scene, Fran. Thanks for being a Writer with Sizzle!

Fran: Thanks for having me over today, Lia! It’s been fun!

Writers with Sizzle: Mary Winter

Please welcome the talented Mary Winter!

Lia: Hi, Mary. Great to have you here! What is your favorite thing about being a romance writer?

Mary: I like writing stories about people overcoming adversity to find love. If I can provide readers with an escape, with that “fuzzy” feeling that you have when you finish a romance novel and know that somewhere, at least, things do work out in the end. Creating such a story is fun, plus, it’s something I can share with my readers. I think we’re all readers first, just telling others about the great books we’ve read, or want to read.

Lia: I love that feeling. Do you have any advice for the budding romance writer?

Mary: Don’t give up. Keep trying. And take the time to learn your craft. Don’t think that just because you live in a remote location, or lack the money to join a national organization, that you can’t or don’t have opportunities to learn. There are plenty of online forums where writers can find critique partners, learn craft, or even take very cost-effective courses. A good web search engine is your friend!

Lia: Great advice, Mary. I love a story that makes me laugh on one page and cry on the next. Have you ever cried or laughed out loud while writing a scene?

Mary: Oh yes. In writing “Two in Hand” and now the sequel, “Two Point Proposition”, I’ve laughed out loud at some of the phrasings I’ve used, or at the comebacks my characters say. I’ve also cried. I wrote “StarMyst: Prodigal Son” shortly after the death of my own father. The scene where Edward dies never fails to bring tears to my eyes. I think if I don’t feel laughter, or tears, or something when I’m writing, then I’m not doing my job as a writer to make my readers feel, too.

Lia: That’s so true! Where can readers find your books?

Mary: My website is a great resource. All my available books are listed on the front page and have their own page where you can find links to buy. http://www.marywinter.com

Lia: I’m on my way over to check it out and I hope everyone else does the same. Thanks for being a Writer with Sizzle, Mary!

Writers With Sizzle: Tessie Bradford

To kick off my celebration of Writers With Sizzle, I have the fabulousy talented Tessie Bradford! Take it away, Tessie!

Thank you so much for having me, Lia!

My first book, Ageless Desires, is available now from Ellora’s Cave. Training Randi, my contribution to the Carnal Reunions anthology from Resplendence Publishing will release on November 10, 2009. Oasis of Pleasure is coming soon from Ellora’s Cave, and Possessing Eleanor is coming soon from Resplendence - it’s been a very busy year for me!

Wow, that's very exciting! Congratulations! Tell me a little about your sizzling writing. How do your characters enjoy their playtime? Rough? Playful? Tender? All of the above?

Definitely all of the above! When I decided to finally throw my hat into the ring of writing erotic romance, it was with a no holds barred attitude. A bit of pain combined with interesting array of toys never fails to intrigue me. Humor is mandatory. If you can’t laugh and be playful with your partner or partners, then something very important is missing. Tender? Without a doubt! A loving, happily ever after conclusion is the payoff!

I couldn't agree more. I gotta know - Have your characters ever been caught having sex in public? How did that go?

I loved writing the scene in Ageless Desires where Bryan takes Kate into the supply closet at the bar on the night they have ‘come out’ as a couple to their work friends. Kate is still very nervous about her new relationship and shocked when Bryan brings to life one of her secret fantasies. They weren’t caught, but the possibility of discovery is what makes it so hot for both of them!

“I promised you that we would explore every one of your desires together, Katie,” he murmured into her ear as his thumb circled her clit. “Lesson number two, fucking in a public place when we could be found out at any second.”

Instantly his hand was gone, replaced by the huge head of his penis. Acting solely on instinct, she grabbed on tightly around his neck and tried to position herself for his entry. She was so hot, so frantic for him to take her hard and fast that she couldn’t seem to get it right. She cried out in frustration, only to have Bryan’s hands go behind her thighs and lift. In one fluid motion, both her feet were off the ground as he surged into her pussy with a vengeance.

“Wrap your legs around me, I’ve got you,” he moaned as he held her against the door and rammed in and out of her pussy.

Kate knew that her juices were flowing freely. She knew that her nails were raking the back of his neck. She knew that their combined grunts and groans were too loud for a public place. She also knew that she didn’t give a damn.

“Harder, Bryan,” she begged as she met him thrust for thrust, “I’m going to come!”

And with that, he followed her direction, pounding her against the door until the first shudders of her release began. At the moment her orgasm crashed over her, Bryan held himself buried so far into her that his heavy balls rubbed her ass. Kate felt him pulse violently inside her body as his lips crashed down over hers, muffling their combined cries of satisfaction.

“Un-fucking-believable,” Bryan exclaimed with gusto while pulling out of her body and carefully lowering her feet to the floor. They stood for just a moment, holding each other.

“Not trying to ruin the mood or anything,” Bryan ran his hands down her sides as he crouched down at her feet, “but I know that your fantasy is the possibility of getting caught, not the reality.”
